Karachi police have arrested Dr Anam Urooj and her husband Rizwan Arain over an alleged honey-trap scheme involving a valuable car and claims of 14 tolas of gold jewellery.
Karachi police have arrested Dr Anam Urooj and her husband Rizwan Arain in connection with an alleged honey-trap scheme involving the theft of a valuable vehicle near Defence Kala Pul.
According to police, the woman allegedly contacted a man through social media and invited him to meet her. During the meeting, she reportedly asked him to withdraw money from an ATM, while her husband allegedly took the vehicle as part of a pre-planned scheme.
Investigators said the woman initially claimed that street criminals had robbed her of the vehicle and 14 tolas of gold jewellery. However, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) recovered the car within hours and arrested the couple.
Police further allege that the vehicle was intended to be sold in Rahim Yar Khan to a prospective buyer linked to Bannu.
Investigators are now examining claims involving the gold jewellery, the planned transfer of the vehicle, the alleged purchase of a signal jammer, and whether the suspects may be connected to any other incidents.
The allegations remain under investigation and have not yet been proven in court. Final criminal responsibility will be determined through judicial proceedings.
