12-Year-Old Khuzdar Boy Discharged from NICVD After Successful Surgery to Remove Bullet from Heart

KARACHI: A 12-year-old boy from Khuzdar district in Balochistan has been discharged from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) after making a successful recovery following a complex heart surgery.

The child had been brought to the hospital around a month earlier in critical condition, with a bullet lodged in his heart.

A specialised paediatric cardiac team performed an intricate surgical procedure lasting approximately two hours to remove the bullet.

The operation was led by Professor Sohail Khan Bangash, along with a team of experienced paediatric cardiac specialists.

Following the procedure, the child remained under medical supervision and gradually recovered before being declared fit for discharge.

Parents Thank Medical Team

The boy’s parents expressed gratitude to the doctors and medical staff for successfully treating their son and helping him recover from the life-threatening condition.

Professor Tahir Saghir also praised the efforts of the doctors, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals involved in the child’s treatment and recovery.

The successful procedure highlights the specialised paediatric cardiac care available at NICVD for patients requiring complex and high-risk heart treatment.

The child has now returned home following his recovery.
